Pathfolio User Guide
How to get the most out of your application pipeline, follow-up deadlines, and career evidence bank.
1. Navigating the Pipeline Lifecycle
Every role moves through six standardized stages:
- Saved: Roles you are researching, tailoring materials for, or requesting employee referrals on.
- Applied: Application officially submitted; waiting for recruiter acknowledgment.
- Screening: Recruiter initial chat or automated technical assessment link.
- Interview: Technical coding loops, system design sessions, or behavioral rounds in progress.
- Offer: Written offer extended; evaluating compensation, benefits, and decision deadlines.
- Rejected: Concluded application. Keep notes on what was learned for future cycles.
Tip: Moving an opportunity between stages automatically creates a dated entry in the Activity History timeline so you can track how long each interview cycle took.
2. Managing Follow-Up Deadlines
Recruiting momentum is lost when follow-ups are delayed. Pathfolio helps you stay on top of next actions:
- Attach tasks with due dates (e.g. "Send thank-you email to engineering manager", "Complete take-home challenge").
- Tasks past today's date automatically appear in the Overdue Actions badge on your dashboard.
- Completing a task instantly updates your pending counts and logs a completion event.
3. Structuring Career Evidence Entries
During interviews, answering behavioral questions with quantifiable facts is critical. Use the Evidence Bank to store entries formatted with the STAR principle:
Example Evidence Item:
Distributed Telemetry Pipeline
Tags: Go, Kafka, Docker, Prometheus
Concise Result: Processed 15,000 events/sec with under 20ms p99 latency during peak university registration traffic, reducing cluster cost by 35%.
You can reference this entry across multiple job applications without having to duplicate text or re-upload files.
